A novel approach to minimize loss of compactibility in a dry granulation process using superdisintegrants

Dry granulation via roller compaction is increasingly being used as method for the production of oral solid dosage forms. Advantages include a simplified process compared to wet and inherently continuous nature process. A common problem dry granulation, however, loss compactibility granules ungranulated powders. Here we show novel approach minimize during granulation. The intra-granular addition superdisintegrant reduces anhydrous lactose-based produced compaction. This effect explained by reduced hardness granules, which promotes granule fragmentation upon tablet compression. higher degree increases lactose surface available bonding, thereby improving strength. results presented here how superdisintegrants can be formulation.
